Paper vs Computer : A Switch from Ancient to modern ways

There was a time when I used to run with my mom to the stationery shop in my area to buy new registers and notebooks for my new class. I would sweep the whole shop just to find the B+ registers and B+ notebooks. I still remember that I used to draw imaginary figures, fill them with words, read the facts at the back of the register and play games with my friends.

But soon, a computer was brought into my home, and I also started following the trend, practicing my typing and learning Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and many more of such software.

I was using computers for most of my school projects & assignments, and the notebooks that once never had a space to write in now sit in the dust at the corner of my room.

Why was such a decline in the use of paper?

Is this change positive?

Paper is the trend of an early era. People are more accustomed to it. Many writers still prefer paper. Writing on paper is much faster and easier than writing on a computer. It is a lot less painful. It also helps to improve focus. It is easier to sketch on paper than on the Computer.

Too many people writing on paper is a way of presenting emotions to people (such as letters). Writing a stream of thoughts is very easy on paper. Paper is still a massive part of the government offices for record-keeping. They are a more secure way of communication.

Computers were invented, keeping the idea of typewriters in mind. Writing on a computer is faster than writing on paper (you should know how to type). More comfortable to erase mistakes. Written documents can be shared within fractions of seconds rather than waiting for days for a reply. Documents can be presented more formally.

There is no correct answer to this question.

Paper and Computer both have compelling points. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Some people find typing easy, whereas some people think writing is better.

To conclude, computers being a new way of writing, is more comfortable when it comes to long essays or documents. They can save the time of continuous erasing or cutting mistakes. In contrast, the paper is a part of a golden era, is a beautiful way to present emotions, threads of thoughts, and small documents. It also helps to memorize better.

But to find the right or we can say the correct answer, you just have to ask -
